Baan Thai

Dining out can be expensive. A meal for two at a good restraint can cost around one hundred dollars. There are few exceptions to this, and one of them is Baan Thai Restaurant at 4634 Coldwater Road. Baan Thai is an excellent place for a leisurely, intimate meal for anyone with interest in food that goes beyond the norm.
The aroma upon entering the door is a complex blend of incense and spices from the kitchen. The stage is set by the warmth of the authentic décor that could only be seen at an eatery in downtown Bangkok. The welcoming attitude of the staff ensures a stress- free atmosphere for the meal. Repeat customers are recognized and acknowledged. When seated at Baan Thai, you are no longer in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but transported to a far-away land that enhances the dining experience.
Thai food can be too spicy for some, although the staff at Baan Thai will strictly recommend the mild level of spice for the first time visitor. Even at this level, the sinuses will be cleared and the stomached warmed by the intensity of the flavorful food.
The array of dishes to choose from is large. There is something for everyone, from the spicy Pud Thai, to the peanut flavored Thai Amazing Chicken. According to Thai-Food.com Pud Thai is the most popular Thai dish. The Thai Amazing Chicken is a more specialized dish not found at all Thai restraints, but a creation of Chef Pitak Rugsaken of Baan Thai.
The Vegetables in the Pud Thai are obviously fresh and cooked in an authentic Thai fashion. Cooked in a wok that is piping hot for a short time giving them a crunchy bite with an excellently rich flavor. Rice noodles in this dish are cooked to perfection every time. The spice level is made to order in this dish as well as the rest of the menu. Mild will warm your pallet, medium will bring sweat to your brow, and Hot…it lives up to the word and does not take away from the rich flavors of this dish.
A meal at Baan Thai would not be complete without ordering a Thai Iced Tea. At only $1.50 it is a bargain that should not be passed upon. This iced tea with sweetened milk brings the meal together. The milk will cool off the mouth of the brave soul ordering the spicy dish hot, and the sweetness makes it dessert with dinner.
For the adventuresome beer drinker there is a selection of Thai beers that will complement the flavorful menu as well. Phuket beer is a handcrafted German style lager imported from a tourist region of Thailand where Europeans frequent. Singha is a true Asian beer with a unique bitterness that will quench your thirst on a warm day.
The truly unique dining experience at Baan Thai will give a glimpse of the Far East. The atmosphere and hospitality will make the experience one to remember. The price for a meal for two can easily be less than $15, a bargain for the quality of food and service.

First Post

The topic of this blog will be to discuss restaurants that I have visited. I have found the frequency of good restaurants to be few and far between in Fort Wayne, In. I have found a few gems and as I visit new places, I will place reviews.
